FLOURISH
book & lyrics by Lauren Taslitz
music by Danny Ursetti
Mimosa and Molly don’t share a language, but they share a bond strong enough to change the fate of their worlds.
Mimosa is a young, naive, irrepressible plant. Molly is a young, observant, lonely human. Both come from communities on the brink of vanishing. When Mimosa uncovers a secret that could save them, she must find a way to communicate the impossible. And Molly must convince her village to believe the unthinkable:
that a plant has spoken, and that its message could save them all.
FLOURISH is a vibrant new musical inspired by groundbreaking research revealing what many cultures have always known: plants learn, remember, communicate, and act with astonishing agency.
A celebration of interdependence and imagination, FLOURISH reminds us that when we work together,
plants and humans can heal our fragile world – one garden at a time.
